A small pinch of power

I remember way back when l first started school and the teacher gave us some magical seeds that didn't need earth just a few days and some water . These little sprouts which we grew, we could then eat. Later in life l started to notice these sprouts in the food stores. l thought do people actually eat these aren't they just for kids . Well little did l know . Germinated seeds or otherwise known as baby plants are full of nutrients .

Today lm looking at Broccoli sprouts. These are an easy and cheap way to add a powerhouse of nutrients to your meal and your dog's meal.

These are 3-5 day old plants, you can eat then raw or cooked in many ways .

If you freeze broccoli sprouts it increases the sulforaphane. Sulforaphane neutralizes toxins . Phytochemicals like sulforaphane are antioxidants that cancel out free radicals.

It helps to reduce inflammation, it helps calm inflammation in the body and your dog's bodies.

It helps slow down tumor growths and protects tumor growths from reaching the growth and spread of cancer cells . It also helps detoxify the liver.

So cost effective, nutritional and easy to grow and to freeze.

In these times where food is hard to get and expensive . Some people want to feed themselves, their families and their pets the best they can. Trying to buy fresh and unprocessed but often on a strict budget . Growing your own food if you have the space is beneficial. I often feel if we could only give people a little space to grow some foods we could all be a bit healthier. Using herbs like nettles and dandelions if they grow wild where you live (not highly sprayes with pesticides). Try picking wild blueberries if you have that option . Go
